Cherry, watermelon...what? You’ve got questions, and we’ve got answers, all of which are based on solid scientific research. Don’t worry, we broke it down into language that won’t make your head hurt. WellWell for?

You’ve likely heard the term inflammation, and it’s a buzzword for a reason. Modern life is fast, active, and intense, from tough interval training workouts to long hours at the office to iPhone alerts that never cease. The inflammatory response is your body’s way of protecting itself, but if it’s overactive and constant, it can cause a long list of health problems, from digestive issues to autoimmune diseases. WellWell can help manage that response—so if you live in the fast-paced, real world, it’s for you. (If you live in a utopian, off-the-grid paradise, you may not need it. But send us an invite, okay?) in it?

WellWell is made with just three super pure ingredients—cold-pressed, organic juice from tart cherries, watermelon, and biodynamic lemons. We wouldn’t dream of adding sugar, artificial flavors, or preservatives. It’s the recovery recipe Mother Nature intended.

Why...should I drink it?

In addition to the amazing, refreshing flavor, WellWell is carefully formulated to help you thrive while maintaining an active lifestyle. Exercise comes with a never-ending list of long-term health benefits, but it initially causes an inflammatory response and muscle damage. (Just think about that time you did 100 weighted squats and then struggled to make it up the stairs the next day.) In order to reap the benefits, your body needs to recover after every workout, and you’re likely not giving it the tools it needs to do so efficiently.

Which is where tart cherry comes in. Research has shown that the super concentrated juice contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds that help people recover from exercise faster.  For example, studies that have looked at strength training showed people who drank it had significantly lower markers of inflammation and muscle damage in their blood, as well as reduced strength loss and pain, and marathon runners who drank it recovered faster after races.

And those folks weren’t even being treated to watermelon, which is filled with replenishing electrolytes like potassium (2x what you’ll get from a banana!) and is nature’s richest source of l-citrulline, an amino acid that has been shown to reduce muscle soreness (specifically when consumed in watermelon, as the body is able to utilize it better than when taken as a supplement).

The kicker: watermelon juice is an excellent source of lycopene, a powerhouse phytochemical that research has linked to heart health and a reduced risk of several kinds of cancer.

When…should I drink it?

All. Of. The. Time.  You don’t schedule meditation sessions for right after stressful encounters, you sit in silence regularly so you can improve how your body responds to those encounters when they arise. WellWell works in the same way. If you drink it throughout your day, your body will be prepped in advance to respond to inflammatory triggers. Post-workout is good; on the reg is much better.

Where...will it come in handy?

At the gym, spin studio, or CrossFit box, sure, but even if you’re not a big exerciser, inflammation can also be caused by stress (keep some in your office fridge), poor diet choices, an unbalanced gut, environmental toxins, and more, so it’s the perfect on-the-go beverage. Research has also linked tart cherry to improved sleep duration and quality thanks to its ability to increase melatonin in the body so you may want to stock some at home. I drink it?

Finally, no need for science. Just twist the top off and gulp, yeah? Find it at a store near you, here.
